Many shooters face a dilemma: how to mount modern optics on their favorite handgun that isn’t factory-prepared for a red dot (not optic-ready)? Until recently, this meant expensive and irreversible slide milling by a gunsmith. With this system, you don’t have to drill, file, or modify your pistol.

What is the CAT system?

The CAT system is an innovative, quick mechanical-magnetic mounting system. It was designed to attach different types of red dot sights to various firearm models.

Its biggest advantage is its non-invasive nature. Simply remove the original rear sight and replace it with the special, two-part CAT rear sight included in the set. Then, the magnetic mount slides into the new base and lowers until the high-power neodymium magnet adheres to the pistol slide.

Reliability and Top Build Quality

The system guarantees precision and ensures accuracy. The mount has undergone rigorous quality testing that confirms its durability, including tests with a magnet withstanding 50 lbs of force. The design also maintains a low profile, with the sight elevation above the slide being only 5.3 mm.

Simple Installation in a Few Steps

Wondering if you can handle the installation? The process is highly intuitive and comes down to replacing the rear sight and stably seating the mount with the magnet on the slide. Optionally, for your convenience, you can also place the included Allen key on the side of the device, which provides extra fixation.

Two Generations for Every Need: Gen.2 EVO and Gen. 3

Currently, in the EU Shields offer, you will find two generations of this reliable product:

  • Gen. 2 EVO “Sport” Mount: A classic and incredibly fast-to-use version, relying on a precise mechanical fit and a strong magnet. To remove the assembly, grab it and rotate it upward.
  • Gen. III Mount: An advanced version featuring additional lateral safety locks. This ensures even greater confidence and stability. To remove this version, you must press the lateral locks to release it and rotate upward.
